🔮 Spirit Box
Spirit Box is the flagship product of Transactions OnSystems. Submit a prompt, open a channel, and receive an audio transmission from the other side.
Our approach builds on the principles of the Estes Method, a technique developed by Karl Pfeiffer and Connor J. Randall in which a blindfolded, sensory-isolated “receiver” listens to a para-telecommunication device called a spirit box while a second participant (the “investigator”) asks questions aloud to the room. Although the receiver cannot hear the investigator's prompts, they provide an incidental response by calling out whatever words or sounds they hear coming through the spirit box in real time. The Spirit Box of Transactions Onsystems applies the same principle digitally: our system acts as the receiver, and you act as the investigator by asking the questions.
Spirit Box offers two distinct transmission modes: Classic (Estes Method) and Experimental. The mode you select determines the nature of the transmission you receive.
▶ Classic (Estes Method) Mode
In Classic (Estes Method) mode, the system scans through frequencies in the fashion of a traditional spirit box. You may intercept transmissions from other sessions, pick up ambient signals, or receive fragments that were not necessarily intended for you. Each Classic (Estes Method) transmission is ephemeral and unrepeatable by design.
▶ Experimental Mode
In Experimental mode, the system abandons the mechanical sweep of the traditional spirit box in favor of something more arcane. Proprietary spectral algorithms trawl the noise floor, isolating and classifying candidate signals. We surface a composite broadcast precisely attuned to your prompt, allowing you to glimpse answers as if through a glass, darkly. Where Classic (Estes Method) mode casts wide and waits, Experimental reaches deliberately into the dark, engaging in a practice some would call less spiritual and more infernal.
